FBI agent Ethan Burke (Matt Dillon) is charged with the search for two missing colleagues. His investigations lead him to the remote town of Wayward Pines, whose inhabitants are very suspicious of the newcomer and who are more sensitive to their behavior than they answer. When Ethan wakes up after an accident in a hospital, he meets the mysterious and unpredictable nurse Pam (Melissa Leo). This is initially concerned with his injuries, but soon reveals himself as a dangerous adversary, which is interwoven in the dark secrets of the city far deeper than it seems at first sight. When Ethan goes further and further into the secrets of the conspiratorial city community, he comes to the terrible realization that he may never leave Wayward Pines alive.
In May 2013, the US television broadcaster Fox gave the green light to the production of the series, in which, among others, M. Night Shyamalan was to direct and Matt Dillon was committed as the main actor. One year later the series was ordered for 2015. In December 2014, Fox announced the release of the series from May 14, 2015 in 125 countries, which was the largest worldwide launch of a TV series.
Already in 2013 were announced as performers including Melissa Leo, Juliette Lewis, Terrence Howard and Toby Jones.
The filming of Wayward Pines, begun in August 2013, took place in the Canadian province of British Columbia. While the inner scenes were filmed in Burnaby, the outside recordings took place in Agassiz, a small town east of Vancouver.
Wayward Pines is a US-American mystery-crime television station Fox. The series is based on the Wayward-Pines trilogy by author Blake Crouch. The series was developed by Chad Hodge, who plays alongside M. Night Shyamalan, Donald De Lin, and Ashwin Rajan as executive producer.
