About TV show Versailles season 4
King Louis XIV (28 years old), George Blagden, wants to present one thing above all to the world - in addition to the military and economic successes of his country: his unrestricted power. To be better protected against riots, Ludwig decides to expand the hunting lodge in Versailles to the seat of government and magnificent palace. An expensive and protracted undertaking, which threatens to fail several times due to lack of money and various political intrigues. But the future Sun King defies adversity and drives his construction project forward. At the same time, he has to keep his younger brother, Duke Philip I d'Orleans (Alexander Vlahos) in check, with whose wife the king maintains a relationship. His - openly homosexual - brother increasingly suffers from the fact that the powerful king does not involve him in any political process and only wants one thing: to go to war and gain fame and glory on the battlefield. And even the French aristocracy, it does not like that Ludwig demanded each nobleman from a written nobility record.
The second season premiered on 27 March 2017 in France and aired from 21 April 2017 in Britain. On 14 September 2016, producer Claude Chelli confirmed that Versailles had been renewed for a third season, which began filming in April 2017.
