During the Football World Cup 2006 Tony, Emily and the five-year-old son Ollie in the North of France are going on vacation. During the live broadcast of the quarterfinale in a pool bar, Ollie disappears in the middle of a crowd of football fans. Despite a thorough search, the boy remains disappeared without a trace. The local police ordered one of the most renowned investigators in France, Julien Baptiste, with the case. The despair of the parents is followed by the media down to the smallest detail.
Eight years later the disappearance of Ollie is still not elucidated. The parents have separated in the meantime, but Tony still does not believe in the death of his son. Emily is now in a new relationship with the detective Mark Walsh. As new hints for the disappearance of his son emerge, Tony can persuade the now retired investigator Julien Baptiste to reopen the case again.
