About TV show Sacred Games season 2
The godfather of Bombay (Original Title Sacred Games, English for Holy Games) is an Indian television series of the video-on-demand provider Netflix. It is also the first Netflix in-house production from India. The idea for the series comes from the Indian director and screenwriter Vikramaditya Motwde. This was asked by Netflix Vice President Erik Barmack to create Indian programs for the platform. Motwane decided to adapt the 2006 published novel The Godfather of Bombay by the writer Vikram Chandra. After the scripts were written, Motwane asked his colleague Anurag Kashyap to direct him, and he accepted the offer. Motwane directed the scenes of the protagonist, while Kashyap directed the sequences of the antagonist.
In the middle of the night, the police officer Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) is torn from his sleep. An anonymous caller tells Singh about his beginnings as a gangster in the late '70s and gets to know the name of Singh's father. Meanwhile, Singh lets the call be followed by his peers and sets out to find the person behind the distorted voice. But when the anonymous caller sees through Singh's plans, he gives the official an ultimatum: "You have 25 days to save your city." As Singh strikes the face behind the voice, it belongs to the infamous gangster boss Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazudding Siddiqui), he is already dead and Singh faces the mission of his life: saving Mumbai from catastrophe.
At the center of "Sacred Games" is a dense network of organized crime, corruption, politics and espionage - the flip side of the economic boom in India. In the epic story, characters encounter each other, who are described as privileged, famous, miserable and bloodthirsty.
