Marco Polo Plot

Hawkins, Indiana, 1983: When Little Will (Noah Schnapp) suddenly disappears without a trace, his sleepy hometown is in turmoil. Wills desperate mother Joyce (Winona Ryder) and local policeman Hopper (David Harbor) then mobilize the remaining inhabitants to find the boy. Also Will's friends Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) want to track down their missing buddy at all costs and finally go on their own for the adventurous search for him. In the meantime, they soon encounter the mysterious girl Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), who has extraordinary powers and seems to know more about Will's disappearance. But their appearance also calls for shady government representatives, who pursue ominous experiments in a secret facility on the outskirts of the city.

Production

At the beginning of January 2012 the American cable company Starz ordered a 10-part first season of the television series Marco Polo direct-to-series. In January 2014, Netflix finally took over the project and ordered ten episodes of the series, as the search for suitable filming drew, and the planned shooting at original locations in China was too complicated. The production of the first season cost Netflix 90 million dollars. In January 2015, Netflix announced the production of a ten-part second, which was released on July 1,

The film was shot in Italy, Kazakhstan and the new Pinewood Studio in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

In Malaysia 130 sets of plastic and 1.6 tons of silicone 51 sets were built.

John Fusco traveled through Mongolia on horseback in order to experience the narrative of his own narrative and to incorporate his exoticism into the screenplay.

It is very hard to believe that Netflix would cancel a series as good as this one. What possible reason could there be? A lot of people were actually enjoying it, so it would be good if it came back. Perhaps it will show up on a different app and we can watch it THERE..?

I hope so! Like Outlander, went to Starz. Marco Polo is a different nature, more to history, I loved the series and was very disappointed to see there is no S3!

Really disappointed that the series has been cancelled. Enjoyed it very much. Hate that it was cancelled in the middle of a storyline. Makes me wonder what Netflix bases it's decisions on.
