Kim's Convenience Plot
The Canadian comedy series "Kim's Convenience" revolves around a merchant shop in Toronto and its owner. The Regent Park-owned store is run by Korean immigrants. Patriarch Mr. Kim comes out badly with the changes in his neighborhood and the family.
Appa (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee) and Umma Kim (Jean Yoon) emigrated to Canada in the 1980s. Her two young children (Simu Liu) and Janet (Andrea Bang) are now grown up. When Jung was 16 years old, there was a big incident between him and his father, who also involved a physical conflict and stolen money. Then Jung left his home and had no contact with his father.
Now, Appa and Umma, together with Janet, lead the shop, with Janet studying photography at the Kunsthochschule. Jung has kept secret contact with his mother and sister and tries to get his life on the line. He just got a job on a car rental.
The series "Kim's Convenience" is based on the play of the same name, which also featured actor Daniel Dae Kim ("Lost", "Hawaii Five-0").
