Production

The pilot sequence for Hit the Floor was ordered in April 2012. The idea for the series was James LaRosa, who also acted as a producer alongside Bryan Johnson and Maggie Malina. The series of Starz Distribution is distributed. The central female lead roll went to Taylour Paige. The film features Dean Cain, Kimberly Elise, Valery Ortiz and Katherine Bailess. In July 2012 VH1 ordered a first season. After ordering the TV series, Charlotte Ross, Logan Browning and others were cast for more main roles. The performers Don Stark and Robert Christopher Riley were promoted from the Nebendarsteller to the main actor before the beginning of the first season.

VH1 ordered a second season in the middle of July 2013 due to the good ratings, which could be increased during the first season. The shooting began in January 2014. For the second season, three new main actors were cast. A year later the channel extended the series by a ten-part third season.

Hit the Floor (formerly Bounce) is a US television series developed by James LaRosa. The series has been produced by The Film Syndicate and In Cahoots Media for the TV channel VH1 since 2013. In the television series it is about the lives of the Los Angeles Devil Girls cheerleading for the leading basketball team. The first broadcast in the United States took place on May 27, 2013 on VH1.
