What turns the life of Grace and Frankie upside down is the revelation that both attorneys had also secretly had an affair for years. In March 2014, Netflix decided to produce a 13-episode season with Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin in the title roles. Martine Kauffman and Howard J. Morris also produced Fonda, Tomlin, Paula Weinstein, Tate Taylor, Dana Goldberg, David Ellison and Marcy Ross. The filming of the first season began in Los Angeles in August 2014 and ended in November.
Casting to the series began in June 2014. First, Martin Sheen agreed to take over the role of Robert, the husband of Grace. Sam Waterston was later cast as a sol. This was followed by the roll performances of the other actors.
Grace and Frankie is an American comedy series, released on May 8, 2015 by VoD provider Netflix international as a complete season. The series was developed by Marta Kauffman and Howard J. Morris. The title roles play Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. In May 2015 Netflix approved a second season of the format with release date in 2016; Before the release of season 2 the provider extended the series in December 2015 for a third season, which is 2017 to run.
