About TV show House of Cards season 7
House of Cards (English for card house) is an American television series, whose first broadcast in 2013 at the video-on-demand provider Netflix ran and which is mainly assigned to the genres of political thriller and drama. She tells the story of the cunning MP Francis "Frank" Underwood, who, along with his similarly power-hungry wife, creates a system of intrigue, corruption and murder to advance to higher political office positions and thus increase his power influence.
With newly-elected US President Walker denying him the promised Foreign Office, power-hungry Congressman Francis Underwood is scheming against the government. To penetrate even the top floor of US policy, Underwood seeks accomplices and does not shy away from false promises, manipulation or even extortion. He is driven by his no less calculating and ambitious wife Claire. He also brings the aspiring young journalist Zoe Barnes on his side.
With a budget of around 100 million US dollars, the Shakespeare-themed political thriller is the most ambitious series project so far, which is not realized by a TV station. The streaming service Netflix was able to secure the remake of the eponymous BBC mini-series of 1990 (German title: "A house of cards") in a bidding war against HBO. Two seasons were ordered right away with a total of 26 episodes. Among the initiators and producers is David Fincher ("The Social Network"), who has also staged the first two episodes. The showrunner and writer was Beau Willimon ("The Ides of March"), who previously worked for Hillary Clinton's campaign team.
