The original name: Minecraft: Dungeons
Genre: Action, Adventure
Publisher: Microsoft Studios
Plot & Details
Minecraft: Dungeons is a computer game developed by Mojang. The announcement took place on 29 September 2018 during the MineCon livestream and shortly afterwards in the Minecraft blog. Some Mojang employees had been working on the project for some time, but it had been kept secret until then.
The game is an extension of the Minecraft universe, which includes the Minecraft novels and the planned feature film. For the Minecraft universe, there are more Minecraft games in different genres in progress, and Dungeons is just the first one to be introduced.
It is an action-packed adventure game from the category "Dungeon Crawler". These are games where you have to explore a mostly subterranean, labyrinthine, extensive environment (literally, "crawl around in dungeons"). In contrast to the original game, there are no open worlds in dungeons, but many limited scenes with input and output. The action aspect means that there are a lot of monsters and other enemies to fight against. The adventure aspect means that there is a super story that drives one to fight through all the scenes to reach the goal. You will find treasures and better and better equipment and weapons.
The game offers new environments and monsters that do not exist in the original game. The story is divided into different, very different levels (such as canyons, swamps and mines) with various boss monsters at the end of a level.
The release of the PC game is announced for 2020.
