Skull & Bones
The original name: Skull & Bones
Developer: Ubisoft Singapore
Platform: PC, XBox One, PS4, PS4 Pro
Plot & Details
In Skull & Bones you become a greedy captain in the Caribbean and the Indian Sea. You ambush convoys and treasure fleets with a crew of bloodthirsty pirates. The problem here: you are not alone. Even if you roll over the king's ships, other pirate gangs can drop you in the back and rip the booty out of your fingers. There are different game modes available.
All of this is part of the Hunting Reserve mode, which exists alongside the Controversial Waters and Deadly Encounters modes. In Hunting Ground, you will encounter both other players and NPCs, while in Contested Waters in five-person teams, you will only face other players. At the E3 2018 the main focus was on hunting grounds, in mode the end of the pirates is near. Nevertheless, they have not given up yet, the pirates have withdrawn to an island group, to which the government has not yet penetrated. Now they want to celebrate their freedom - and get as many treasures as possible.
How you do this is up to you. You can team up with other crews and work together - or try to fight alone through the rough seas. It's about attacking the treasure-laden ships of the government, to board and bring the treasures on your own ship. But the fight does not end there, now it's time to defend the treasure - against the government, but also other greedy crews.
However, you should not only keep an eye on other players and enemies, but also the weather and your environment can decide on victory and defeat. So Skull and Bones seems to be pretty tactical to win, you need a plan, allies can not hurt either. But be careful they do not turn against you, after all, they're still pirates - and they, like you, have no morals.
Skull and Bones is a shared world game, meaning you can face other real players anytime, join forces with them or fight them. Even though it certainly has a few parallels with Sea of Thieves, it looks far more realistic and brutal than the Rare pirate game.
Skull & Bones will be released in 2019 for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
