Candice Renoir is a French television series that premiered on April 19, 2013 on the French television channel France 2.
The series is about the life of the eponymous police commander Candice Renoir, played by Cécile Bois. Renoir grew up in the northern French town of Valenciennes. She had taken a ten-year break from the police service to accompany her husband Laurent, a successful manager, on his professional assignments worldwide. Most recently, the family lived in Singapore. After the separation from Laurent she returns to the police service and becomes team leader at the homicide unit in Sète.
At first she has to struggle with the hostility of her new team. In particular, Capitaine Antoine Dumas is initially open confrontation with Renoir. He had provisionally headed the team for a month before Renoir's return and confessed to the pledge by police director Yasmine Attia that he would continue to be team leader in the future. Only the forensic scientist Pascale Ibarruri is not quite so hostile to Renoir. After a bet, however, Renoir succeeds in gaining the respect of her team.
