Plot & Details
Skin is a film drama by Guy Nattiv, which premiered on September 8, 2018 Toronto International Film Festival and was shown in February 2019 at the Berlin International Film Festival. The biopic tells the story of Bryon Widner trying to get out of the right scene.
Bryon Widner (Jamie Bell) was one of FBI's most sought after white suprematists. Dressed head-on-to-toe with racist tattoos earned through hate crimes, he leads a destructive life, taking a path he can not undo. When he meets Julie (Danielle MacDonald) and her three daughters from a different relationship, it fulfills the desire for responsibility, paternity, and the idea of leaving the movement. He receives death threats and is harassed by his old gang as he tries to change his life. With the help of the FBI and the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC for short), he undergoes 25 tough tattoo removal sessions, in return for which officials are allowed to decode his tattoos, resulting in the arrest and conviction of his former gang.
